The ladies behind Hexagon

The steering committee is a team of women volunteers in various UX disciplines that have a vision for empowering, connecting, and creating a community for women and non-binary folks in UX.

Fiona yeung, Director

I’m an interaction designer at Google on the Fuchsia OS team originally from Toronto. I love being a part of a community that empowers and supports women and unrepresented folks where I'm constantly inspired to become my own #girlboss. Aside from design, I'm an avid traveler that's passionate about well-being & fitness with an obsession for all things tropical.

karen ng, growth & Strategy

Originally from Brooklyn, I moved out to sunny SF to join Google as a UX designer. Before becoming a designer, I was a business development analyst and at one point, a paralegal. Outside of work, I enjoy going on short hikes with my corgi and perusing the aisles at bookstores. Hexagon combines a few things I'm passionate about – UX, women's representation, & mentoring!

I’m a UX content strategist and writer on Google Express and Shopping. I have a background in journalism and publishing, and still do some narrative writing on my spare time. I’m passionate about advocating for communities where we embrace our differences, listen, debate and connect. At Hexagon I focus on content and editorial strategy.

I’m Bonne Marie, a SF native and content strategist at Google. My background is varied, but have always been involved with writing and editing – especially creative non-fiction and poetry. I thrive on epiphanies, community, and empowering others. I’m also passionate about theatre, hand-lettering, and leafy greens.

Fun facts: I'm a Bay Area native and an introverted extrovert. I enjoy cultivating strong relationships. I'm passionate about facilitating good design and solving complex problems. When I'm not working, I knit, lift weights, and indulge in good food

olivia grace, design

I'm a designer at Google, currently on the Assistant team. Originally from Indonesia, I left at 18 to study design in the US. My experience growing up in a developing country fueled my interest in designing products that are functional and inclusive. Other than design, I'm a total foodie and a full-time cat mom.
